The foundation preserves and exhibits works by Joan Miró. It also preserves works donated by the Miró family and a collection of Miró’s works donated by Joan Prats. These collections consist of 300 canvases from 1917 to the 70s, 150 sculptures, 9 textiles, the nearly complete graphic works, and more than 8000 drawings, sketches and notes, which range from the first infant drawings of the year 1901, to the preliminary studies for paintings made in 1981. These collections are displayed in part, and the works exhibited change all the time. The collection "To Joan Miró" reflects, with a symbolic contribution from international artists, a testimony of their friendship with Joan Miró, or their admiration for his persona and his work.
